Dragon Necklace, Sterling Silver Fantasy Jewelry, Semi-Precious Stone Renaissanc
I've named this dragon necklace "Magic Foretold" because of the mystical nature of piece of sterling silver fantasy jewelry. The magical bond between a maiden and her young dragon is now complete, the moon shines down on the sacred place where the union was foretold. The maiden rests her arms on a magical emblem with a sacred stone at it's center. The spirals of the medallion, symbolizing the energy within, are echoed in the dragons wings, whose tail entwines the maidens arm. These details and more come together to makes this truly a unique and impressive piece of sterling silver fantasy jewelry and a wonderful Renaissance Pendant set with a beautiful accent stone of your choosing.
The "Magic Foretold" fantasy jewelry pendant is 2 3/4 inches tall, the span across the dragon wings is 1 3/8 inches wide, the width at the top of the medallion is just under 1 inch. A hidden bail behind the moon and cloud accommodates a 3mm cord or chain, an 18 inch braided leather cord is included with the pendant. The cabochon accent stone in the center of the medallion section of the fantasy pendant is 10mm in size, I have a wide range of stones available and if you don't see the stone you were hoping for listed please contact me and I will see if I can get it for you. In the first photo and on the model the stone is labradorite, the second photo where the pendant is angled the stone is rainbow moonstone.
As with all of my work this piece of fantasy jewelry was created using the lost wax method. I first start by doing a detailed drawing of my intended subject. Then I sculpt my design in wax. I start with overall shape and form, making sure all the individual pieces are proportional to each other, then adding detail which includes applying the dragon scales one scale at a time. After the wax sculpture is complete it is cast in sterling silver, excess metal is removed, patina applied, rough polished, stone set, then completed by a final polish. It is a time consuming process, but one that I thoroughly enjoy. I love this piece of jewellery art. Sharon is very helpful and a great artist/seller. Thank you for the beautiful Citrine gemstone ordered in to represent the moon. As with my other pendants I can wear this on my vine entwined neck wire - looks gorgeous. Received my pendant in attractive box with silver cleaning cloth folded on top and tied with silver thread and also enclosed a lovely piece of Citrine which will join my crystals on the mantlepiece.
