Unicorn and Maiden "Magical Refuge" Fantasy Bracelet with Chain or Beads

Be swept away from the ordinary to a mystical place where you can talk to unicorns and play with faeries; as a fairy tale takes on form in this fantasy jewelry bracelet of sterling silver. A maiden has left her castle to find a "Magical Refuge" where faeries dwell inside their tree home and morning glories drape from vines setting the stage for an encounter with a breathtaking unicorn. This bracelet is available with either a triple strand of sterling silver chain or accented by an assortment of semi-precious stone beads including: Amethyst, Moonstone, Labradorite, and Black Onyx

I started by creating a detailed pencil drawing to refine my idea and layout the design of the piece. I then begin to sculpt everything in wax, first by addressing the overall composition, then proportion and musculature of the individual characters, lastly overlaying all of it with detailing. This was a very time and labor intensive process; including facial expressions of the maiden and unicorn, draping of the gown, flowers and leaves and even giving the maiden an arm band to wear. When sculpting was complete it was cast using the lost wax method in sterling silver. After much grinding and polishing the sterling silver chain was linked and soldered in place. Followed by a patina applied in two parts to give some areas a darker finish than others, providing for contrast and interest. This was followed by hand polishing and an application of Renaissance Wax to protect the finish and guard against tarnish.

This fantasy bracelet has a very unique clasp that catches on the side, which keeps the bracelet secure, yet fastens easily. The front of the bracelet measures 3 1/4 inches across by 1 1/8 inches wide at it's outer most edges with the overall length of the bracelet measuring 7 inches, contact me if you need a specific length or if you would like a different selection of beads.

This is a work of art, and I absolutely adore it. I put it on as soon as I opened the box. Lovely work, just lovely!
